Perhaps God discovered that “Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” is true even for gods, and thus decided to forgo having the power to perform miracles, and only works through us by influencing us spiritually. This would be tremendously wise.

A prayer for this child to live is approved but that one is not.
