On your short comments about Forrest Church, perhaps you can explain to me two things about Church's theology

1) "Religion is the human response to the inevitability of death". I thing Forrest also said that religion is "being alive but knowing that we have to die". This means absolutely nothing to me. I think religion is the gathering of people to search for the meaning of life, to share one another's joys and sorrows, and to celebrate life." This is my own formulation and I think people can understand this but not what Forrest suggests. Can you help me here?

He also said, as stated above, that the "inevitability (of death) gave meaning to human love because the more love we found and gave, the more we risked losing it". Once again, this is something I don't understand. First I don't think love is something you "find" and then something you "lose". Even if this is an attempt at poetry, I think it limps. Further, even if love can be "found" and "lost"and this is something we"risk" how is this the reason for religion?

2) God is something "greater than all and yet present in each". What does this mean? If this God is the "most liberal.." and is munificent and open-handed" then, I presume Forrest believe that God is a person. Is that true?
